This is view 'h' in the Japanese sewing book Girly Style Wardrobe. Such a simple dress. Three pattern pieces: front, back, and sleeve. Tie at the back neck.
Summer dresses were in order. Here is the back view of the dress in a pink oriental print for the Truffle.
The Wonderbug chose this vibrant blue/green/purple fabric herself on an expedition to the Cabbage Rose, a favorite stop when visiting Dears & Grampsies in Fort Worth.
I made pantaloons to match by lengthening a shorts pattern in the same book and added tiny indigo rick rack from my stash of vintage trims. It is almost impossible to see in the photos against the bold fabric, as is the pocket on the dress. These are going into their winter hibernation now, but I look forward to seeing at least one of them again in spring.

Beautiful, beautiful! They have a bit of a '20s look to me.
